Beautiful.
Agreed, Ezabelle. And a much better job than the Vatican has done in recent years, for sure.
The cow or bull has slanty eyes.
As long as the art is reverent, there is nothing wrong with different cultures representing Sacred Art as it relates to their culture. Besides, Sacred Art is meant to visually represent the beauty and profound in our Faith, the same way words do. This in turn elevates our understanding beyond the abstract and unites our mind, heart and soul to God. Sacred Art has the power to do this more succinctly and precisely than words can. It can reach the educated and medicated equally.
Uneducated. Not medicated. Bloody auto spell check. I think it’s possessed. 😂
I agree, Ezabelle. Stained glass windows, paintings and scuptures were the means to educate the illiterate about their Catholic faith; give glory to God, and bring beauty into what must have been for some a drab existence.
When I used to visit family in San Francisco I’d attend Mass in various ethnic parishes. My favorite was the pagoda shaped St Fancis Xavier Church up from Japantown with the Holy Family depicted bronze Shinto style.
