He came to the conclusion they were ‘far more serious’ just how?

You’ll note that (1) defrauding workers of their just wage is anything but quotidienne and something you’re most likely to see in off-the-books employment (which itself is a byproduct of over-regulating the labor market), (2) ‘breaking worker solidarity’ is code for company policies which make life inconvenient for SEIU organizers, and (3) ‘failing to relieve the poor’ is code for legislators saying ‘no’ now and again to the social work lobbies.

Amen, Art D.

I guess Tony and the co-residents of his bubble either haven’t heard of, or disbelieve in, Our Lady’s warning to the children at Fatima that, paraphrasing, more souls fall into Hell for sins of the flesh than for any other. I’m inclined to take her word for it.

Sin=opposing democrat policy or espousing conservative policy.. Btw; sodomy and depriving workers of just wages are both on the same list of sins that cry to heaven for vengeance

Wasn’t there just a hint of defense of “pelvic sins” in the heart of that post?

The Consequences of Pelvic Sins (with personal commentary at end).

The story of Judah and Tamar who played the prostitute in Genesis 38 shows what happens to a family with sexual dysfunction.

The story of Samson and Delilah in Judges 16 shows what happens when the imperious urge for sex overrides discretion and prudence.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges%2016&version=NRSVCE

The story of the Levite and his concubine in Judges 19 is quite horrific, and the aftermath of pelvic sin there resulted in rape, murder, and dismemberment, and almost led to the extinction of the Tribe of Dan.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges%2019&version=NRSVCE

The story of David and Bathsheba in 2nd Samuel 11 is a classic example of adultery leading to murder.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+samuel+11&version=NRSVCE

The story of Amnon having raped his half sister Tamar in 2nd Samuel 13 led inexorably to Absolam’s rebellion against King David and almost destroyed the Monarchy just after it had barely begun.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Samuel%2013&version=NRSVCE

The story of the prophet Hosea having married a serial prostitute in Hosea 3 is particularly pitiful; she never could remain faithful and devoted to her children, and it’s always the children who suffer the most.

One could go on and on and on with Biblical examples of the consequences of pelvic sin, whether heterosexual or homosexual. As a submarine sailor, I perhaps am more guilty than most. Thankfully, homosexuality never appealed to me. However, today I remember three different prostitutes whom I frequented in my misbegotten youth: one a black lady, a second an older professional blond, and the third a younger single mother. Oh, I paid generously for good measure, and even gave gifts at Christmas. Indeed, the girls were more honest than I deserved. But what I did was SIN, and needed to be confessed and repented of, and I did that (eventually). My AA sponsor told me to NOT put old prostitutes on my 8th step amends list, and his sponsor, my priest-confessor, agreed with him. Nevertheless, it’s strange how Don’s post reminds me of these things now. So my advice is simple: don’t repeat my pelvic errors, whether you’re homosexual or heterosexual. No good will come out of it, and guilty memories will haunt you into your 60s.

I sometimes get the feeling that the events of the New Testament are those of the Old, run in reverse. We have now arrived at the Tower of Babel.

I always get a kick out of it when someone on the Left accuses conservatives of being obsessed with ‘pelvic sins.’

Assuming one accepts Annett’s premise, those sins would fall under the 7th Commandment, which would make them less serious than those of the 6th.

Whenever someone posts, prominently featuring their degrees (“Dr. Stephen XYZ, PhD”), they telegraph they are a complete idiot.

It is the left that is using the government schools to carry out a program of coercive sexual indoctrination. Evidently faithful Catholics have no rights of self defense against this coercive sexual indoctrination.

LQC: It is my understanding that the matter of Judah and Tamar concerned levirate marriage, where a brother would have children by the brother’s widow to maintain the blood connection and support to the clan. The story of Boaz and Ruth also concerned a levirate marriage where Boaz redeemed Ruth to maintain her clan connection. The lack of clan connections and support is what made the the lives of widows and orphans hard. In a way the marriage of Joseph and Mary served the same function as a levirate marriage where Jesus was given the house of David linage and support through Joseph.

Hosea married Gomer to show Israel what they were doing to God by playing the harlot with the idolatrous worship of foreign gods. To me when David committed adultery and murder he was acting like faithless Israel, who committed spiritual adultery against God by idolatry, and killing many of the prophets who were sent to correct Israel’s defective faith practices.
