Thought For The Day

Time for our hierarchy to start thinking like shepherds and stop turning Christ away from the inn.
The innkeeper had no inkling that he was serving the Mother of God. He just took the time out of the unexpected census boom in business to find a place for seemingly ordinary folks with what he had available.
Trying to remember this when my job, family life, acts of meager charity seem meaningless. Truth is that we can’t know the impact of what we do. Only the Lord of History does…
Every now and then, Bruised Optimist, we are given a gift of Christmas future.
A woman stopped by Planned Parenthood with her 13 year old boy in tow. She walked up to our coordinator, Jeff, and with tears in her eyes thanked all of us manning the sidewalk with rosaries. She claimed that 3 of us were in front of that death camp, in November, 13 years beforehand… in the rain… and she sat in her car pondering why on earth strangers would hold such a vigil for strangers facing an unplanned pregnancy. She didn’t go through with making her appointment. She gave birth to a boy. The JOY of her Life!!!!
That was a gift for all prayer warriors on the front line. A gift from God.
Your prayers matter.. hey…

I often wonder if the innkeeper could have given up his room for the unborn Christ?
Every soul created in original innocence has a Guardian Angel, The innkeeper’s Guardian Angel had been neglected for a very long time.
The Corporal Works of mercy never go out of style.
Taking the Inn Keepers side for a moment, his inn was full, and no doubt he was a busy man & also needed his sleep. He offered shelter with the stable, and this would have been a common thing in those days – often, travelers would put their bedding down & sleep in a place on the ground, out in the open if there were no residences available. I wonder how many inns, or stables, or open ground Joseph & Mary slept in or on, on their 3 or 4 day journey to Bethlehem.?
Don Beckett;
Everything you say is true. I still believe the innkeeper ought to have offered a pregnant woman his space, if not for the woman then for her unborn child. Mary and Joseph then could have accepted the stable.
The apparition at Medjugorie is teaching people that “Love is God”. If Love is God, then Cupid, Aphroditi, Venus and the like are all god.
God is Love. God is Wisdom. God is all Good.
Some people say that because Wisdom is referred to as “she” in the Bible and since God is Wisdom, God may be referred to as “she” also. God may be referred to as “she” only if Wisdom is God, but never, never as “she” since God is Wisdom.
The Hypostatic Union of Jesus Christ, true God and true man is the revelation of God. “My Father is greater than I.” Jesus willingly did the will of His Father in heaven and therefore only Jesus can say “My Father is greater than I.” Ordinary human beings cannot say that since the sovereign Persons of the Blessed Trinity are equal in the Infinite Supreme Sovereign Being, God.
The Father and the Son are both male and therefore, the Love that proceeds from the Father and the Son, the sovereign Person of the Holy Spirit is male.
Jesus grew in wisdom and grace from infancy to manhood. Perfect wisdom and grace are the soul of Christ. Christ grew to be the man of His soul.
The father is head of the family. The husband is head of his wife. The father and husband represents his wife and family forever and ever, at prayer before God, at society, at all aspects of life.
St. Paul says: “Husbands love your wife. Wives be submissive to your husband” Saint Paul did not say “Wives be subject or servant to your husband.” Submissive means to hear and act on the husband’s wisdom or correct him if need be.
Since Adam refused to obey God, the husband’s duty to love and represent his family and wife has been incorrectly interpreted. Had Adam as Eve’s husband and head of the family obeyed God, Eve’s transgression would have been covered as inconsequential. Man would not be subject to death, war, famine and pestilence. Spiders would not bite. Hunger would not be. War would not be. Mankind would be walking with God in the evening in the Garden, with joy, not sorrow.
Some males brutalize women to prove their manhood. Savage brutality against women and sometimes against men permeates society because of the war inside the human being. Only God as Father, “their Creator” can heal man. Only Jesus Christ as Redeemer can save man. Only the Holy Spirit can bring God to man.
