Apparently the Irish do not.

The only thing lost seems to be Varadkar’s grasp on facts. Give the poor fella a break- he’s just repeating the pre-prepared script written for him by the current world order. Puppet.
Getting creative with the euphemisms on the Emerald Isle are they?
Proposed: Any nation which trades in its cultural and ethnic identity for “multiculturalism” is on the road to dissolution. See, e.g., Ireland, England, every member of the E.U., and, sadly, the USA. I would welcome being proven wrong.
That horrible heathen co-opted Amazing Grace, as close as this godless individual can get to acknowledging a God in heaven. Being “lost and then found” means a soul was headed to hell but thanks to the mercy of God is now bound for heaven. He steals the meaning and because he protects Hamas he twists the meaning entirely. What an odious, odious person. I can’t imagine what this individual prays to or for.
Ireland’s political culture is in certain respects frankly atrocious. Varadkar himself is unfit, as is the country’s ceremonial president. He’s facing an Irish public who object by enormous margins to Israel responding to the Hamas butchery, because it’s the default setting in Ireland to view Jew lives as unimportant.
If being “lost” is not illegal in Ireland, perhaps prolifers can get “lost” in abortion centers without repercussion. 🤔

As for the Irish political class, this is who they are and what they do. The Regime is bereft of legitimacy.
Frank I agree with you- the problem with mass immigration is that there is nobody in government ensuring that the immigrants are adopting the values of the country.
This is my generalised take- Instead mass immigration from non-western nations brings souless ways (China) and manners (which are backwards in comparison to west) and their confronting religious practises and poop on the rest of the western society.
Our Australian government dumped a couple hundred thousand Indians into the Australian population recently. They behave as though they are still in India. And let’s not get started on Muslim immigration- they conglomerate into ghettos and their suburbs are filthy.
My father immigrated to Australia in the 1970’s and he was learnt from very early on what the Australian way was and embraced it, and raised us accordingly.
What a load of blarney! T’would seem that St Patrick’s spiritual descendants have need to drive the snakes out again.
You cannot ensure that they ‘adopt the values of the country’. You can screen people so they are drawn from pools such that they are more likely to subscribe to kindred values ex ante.
Unfortunately, the Irish government is doubling down on mass immigration and looking the other way on the antisemitism of their pro-Hamas left.
Legislation is in the pipeline over there making ‘migrants’ a protected class, and voicing opinions against mass immigration of so-called ‘refugees’ a hate crime, punishable by fines and jail time. In short, the Irish government is attempting to make it illegal to criticize its open borders policy, or to complain about its effects on crime and the social fabric.
Art- well…..Screening is just one part, and you would assume that’s a given. Immigration from western countries and Christians should be a priority. We seem only to be getting Muslims, Hindus and atheists.
The government is responsible for going beyond making sure the migrants learns the words of the national anthem, how to say “hello”, knowing the colours of the flag and basic stereotypes about native flora and fauna before giving national citizenship. At the moment the government (in my part of the world) are dumping them into the community as a lazy solution to employee shortages- it’s a “see you later and off you go”.
Proving community involvement, refusing government hand-outs to those who are “in the know” of the system, specifying they be settled outside of migrant ghettos- this forces them to assimilate into the community and not live outside of it. It can be done if the government policies weren’t so basic and lazy.
