To Jesus Christ Our Sovereign King

Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, He taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

Isaiah 40:15

Something for the weekend. To Jesus Christ Our Sovereign King was  written in 1941, eighty-two years ago, by Father Martin B. Hellriegel, a German-American pastor in Saint Louis, as a direct response to the pretensions of the Third Reich and to remind people who actually reigns eternally.  We Americans have traditionally understood that God is in charge:  We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Abraham Lincoln ringingly set forth what this section of the Declaration means:  “These communities, by their representatives in old Independence Hall, said to the whole world of men: “We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” This was their majestic interpretation of the economy of the Universe. This was their lofty, and wise, and noble understanding of the justice of the Creator to His creatures. [Applause.] Yes, gentlemen, to all His creatures, to the whole great family of man. In their enlightened belief, nothing stamped with the Divine image and likeness was sent into the world to be trodden on, and degraded, and imbruted by its fellows.”

Nothing could be further from the nightmarish ideas that fueled the Third Reich, and Father Martin B. Hellriegel in his magnificent hymn conveys this majestic conception of God and of humanity under God:

To Jesus Christ, our Sov’reign King,

Who is the world’s salvation,

All praise and homage do we bring,

And thanks and adoration.

Refrain: Christ Jesus Victor, Christ Jesus Ruler!

Christ Jesus, Lord and Redeemer!

2. Thy reign extend, O King benign,

To ev’ry land and nation,

For in Thy kingdom, Lord divine,

Alone we find salvation.

(Refrain)

3. To Thee and to Thy Church, great King,

We pledge our hearts’ oblation,

Until before Thy throne we sing,

In endless jubilation.

In accordance with the Kingdom of the Sacred Heart, many of His subjects are gathering at Governmental center’s, Courthouses and State Capital’s come Wednesday the 1st of December to pray for an end of legalized abortion on demand. overturnroe.org

Hobbs v Jackson will be scrutinized by the SCOTUS on that Wednesday.

As loyal subjects to the King we know His image and likeness is stamped on the tiniest of our brothers and sisters.
Those in the womb.

Come Wednesday we remind the world of this fact. Come Wednesday we beg Our King to move hearts.

My grandfather Henry Brinksmeyer, who was the organist at the Old Cathedral in St, Louis, (the one down by the arch), was friends with Monsignor Hellriegel.

Thanks for the background on this wonderful hymn. I was born in St. Louis and had no idea of the history. Sadly, the St. Louis Jesuits now seem to rule the roost in my home town.
At Mass today we had this as the recessional, supported by our excellent pipe organ and choir. Goose bumps!

China’s one baby policy and abortion
solutions has created a lopsided
gender population. If Chinese men can’t illegally purchase enough slave women to fill the void then invading other lands could be considered an answer.

They consider Taiwan, “rightfully” their land and with it the inhabitants as well.

The Lady asked a prayer be said throughout the world:

“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now Your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all nations, that they may be preserved from degeneration, disaster and war. May the Lady of All Nations, who once was Mary, be our Advocate. Amen.”

Philip- my 13 year old daughter showed me that. It was circulating amongst her friends. You couldn’t get a bigger billboard than Times Square for the innocent unborn. You’ll get people look up “what’s 2363?” That’s where they will learn that is the estimated number of babies aborted every DAY in the US…not to mention how many are aborted around the world. Anything to get people asking and questioning…

The pursuit of Happiness is the pursuit of Truth.
It is important to know that all public lands and waterways belong to each and every citizen in joint and common tenancy. No law can change that. Persons are allowed to pray on sidewalks that belong to them. To imprison citizens for praying on their own property is akin to insanity for eradicating civil rights of all citizens.
Government that has ignored its founding Principles is no government.
