Illinois is a blue state because of suburban morons like these. My Mom and Dad worked their fingers to the bone to keep us lower middle class. I can imagine their reaction to this play acting of their fierce struggles to keep us solvent and to send their boys to college.

Not in Guatemala, but in Lake County, Illinois. Poverty as it would have been understood in this country the year my father was born hardly exists anymore outside the ranks of vagrants. We have a great deal of insecurity and a great deal of anomie, but little material poverty.
