PN I was thinking of something similar but using the word “they” are pushing I tried to come up with something less offensive than they can the f bomb themselves but it works so well for the occasion, they keep going this route it will be hard for them to un__, themselves if anything goes hot

I think that’s a bit less accurate than you think. Technically, the Chairman serves a four-year term, sure, yet he ALSO, technically, serves at the pleasure of the President. No idea whether Gen Milley actually believes this malarkey; sad if he does. He DOES know the attitudes of those who elected his current Commander in Chief. If he wants to serve out his full term, he’d best toe the line.

Philip Nachazel’s button pin expresses the exact thought I had when I saw the title of this post. Certain military leaders desparately need a visit to the fan room on a 688 class fast attack nuclear submarine. That’ll fix them pronto.
If by some miracle the GOP elects the next President, he better have the focus and determination to do a root and branch reform of the entire executive branch, starting with Defense and Justice. Because those two departments appear to be in a race to determine whether our ruin comes from without or within.
The use of they/them by an individual makes me think of multiple personality disorder or possession by demons.

The pronouns we used when I was in the Navy were all those words that you weren’t supposed to use in mixed company.
