Another key is hate. The Pope is a spiteful man, filled with grievances against straw men he busily constructs in his mind. Hatred of Americans, conservatives and traditional Catholics is ever present in most things this Pope does. He does not fit the historical definition of an anti-Pope, but he is the mirror image of what a successor to Peter should be.

The pastoral approach does not lead to all fuzzy nice things but becomes a cancer in the marriage and body of Christ.

Francis has previously acknowledged the criticism directed at him from some U.S. conservatives, once quipping that it was an “honor” to be attacked by Americans.
What’s that supposed to mean? The most back-handed of snarks if there ever was one. Good way for him to rally up his popularity for the quarter of the population who are Catholic. And he wonders why he is being “criticised”.
Firstly, I mean if he despises Americans that much why does he worry about the state of affairs of the US Church? Secondly, if only it were true that the US Bishops are hi-jacked by Conservatives. If that was the case, then you’d have the denial of the Eucharist to the likes of Biden and Pelosi.
