Creepy.
I can’t imagine driving past those disturbing, staring eyes every day.
Poor Californians.

Well. The site of this modern Dr TJ Eckleburg (“The Great Gatsby’s” mysterious image) is the side of a building at 420 Mason St in SF (Mason & Post)—looking down toward once-thriving Market St.

In fact, notice how deserted the streets are, which were once jammed with traffic.

No wonder the streets are empty—especially of parked cars:

“San Francisco Police Lt.Tracy McCray told the New York Post, “It’s called ‘bipping and boosting.’ [breaking into parked cars, often in broad daylight]. It really exploded during the pandemic —-so much so that someone told me that the sidewalks are glistening and sparkling [with glass from windows] where cars are broken into left and right.”

In the past 30 days, robberies have jumped 26% compared to the previous year, according to data tracked by the San Francisco Police Department.

There have been nearly 1,670 car break-ins in the past 30 days in San Francisco, according to police statistics. So far this year, there have been almost 10,000 thefts from vehicles in San Francisco.

Tourist areas such as North Beach, Japantown, and Presidio have the highest rate of car break-ins per 10,000 residents.”

The beauty of the Blue State and the dramatic scowl of little Greta. A tribute to the Democrats.
Covid-19 is their scapegoat. Not incompetence and thievery …no, no. Not that.

The mayor, London Breed, is 49 years old and held patronage positions in the San Francisco city government from the time she was a college student to the time she was elected to the Board of Supervisors. She has very little employment history outside of politics.

The 11 members of the Board of Supervisors are all Democrats. They have ten children between them (Breed is unmarried and childless). Nine of them have no history in the business sectors. One with her husband owns some rental properties; one is part owner of what appears to be a gay bar. There are several lawyers on the Board, but none who had an ordinary law practice. A couple of those on the Board have planning degrees, but neither was a working planner. Three of the 11 members are explicit homosexuals. Three of the 11 members are Jews and a fourth wishes to leave the impression he is. The only person on the Board whose cultural background is pre-Ellis Island is a homosexual with a history of drug abuse. This is who is interested in running for public office in San Francisco. This clown car provokes little resistance or reaction from the broader public in the city.

You’ll recall that Chesa Boudin, a lawyer hostile to law enforcement, was elected district attorney. (You’ll recall also that his mother was Weather Underground terrorist Kathy Boudin and his grandfather red-haze lawyer Leonard Boudin). The electorate had the sense to recall him. His successor seems more sensible, though its disconcerting that her experience as a prosecutor was taken up with ‘hate crimes’ prosecutions.
