An Orthodox monastery in Ukraine was closed because it had ties to the Russian Orthodox Patriarch. The American news was furious about it. Judging from that church being complicit with the Soviets during Stalin’s time, it may not have been a bad move. The seal of Confession was known not to be adhered to in those awful times. The press also seems to forget the planned starvation of Ukrainians during the Holodomor…why is that?
