Salve everyone!
I have been upgrading the entire website, so expect hiccups from time to time. I hope to be finished before the end of this week.
If there are any ideas or thoughts as to what features you want on The American Catholic, now is the time to post them in this post.
Thanks for the update! I logged on last night and feared something nefarious had happened to the site. But, then, surely Sr. Calamus would have warned us.
Southcoast,
A new comment system will be implemented and new ‘recent comments’ sidebar. And the typography will be changed plus I’ll be slimming down the sidebar links to only those that are still working.
Thank you for your hard work and patience.
For the IT challenged, like myself, your doing what would take me four months to accomplish…, that is if I was lucky.
Bravo on your changes this far.
Hi Philip,
Thanks brother!
My IT is an accumulation of knowledge since I was a little boy and taught myself BASIC & CP/M.
Lots of practice!
Please leave any ideas or thoughts you might have to improve this website!
thank you Tito. Great job! Having constructed web sites (Calix blog, catholicscientist.com) I know it’s a rough job, full of barbed wired obstacles.
Test.
It looks very different, but not in a bad way.
Oh, my, I just noticed that it allows image comments. ^.^
I think someone figured out some new features of our comment system!
grins wickedly First thing that came to mind with “TAC” was “Tactical Air Command”. …That ceased to exist about 1992.
Hi, Mr. Edwards, and thanks for all your efforts. It would be nice to have an “edit” function for when we fail to do our best job of proofreading our posts. Maybe that already exists in this new design, but since I haven’t posted yet, I don’t know. 😉 The ability to post images would be a good addition, although it probably makes moderation more time-consuming.
As others have noted and I’ve upvoted (that’s a nice option to have, as well!), the new layout looks good.
How do you recapture your avatar?

Tito, I’m not sure what you changed since Tuesday morning, but it’s only now that I can see the comments others have posted, or post a comment of my own. So, thank you.
And Frank, in his comment below, is as usual the voice of reason— an edit feature would be a fine addition. After all, even Homer nods…
It’s nice to see more adverts if that equals revenue for y’all!
It may still be in the works, but if reading on a phone display, the ads take up the bulk of the visual space. Had to switch to non phone display to read TAC writing vs ads.
As the greatest repeat offender of bad grammar in the yaed. I must agree with the suggestion for edit. Btw .. thanks for your patience with me.
