His only prior involvement with the law was in 1997 when he pled guilty to a disorderly conduct charge. Otherwise he led a law abiding life. An Air Force vet with three kids who had worked up until recently. People dumb enough to threaten to assassinate public officials on the net get little sympathy from me, but he sounds like a 75 year old fantasist, quite possibly going through Alzheimer or senility. Far better to have had him taken into custody by a local cop rather than the FBI engaging his fantasies by bringing a storming party to bring him in. Bad cop work often leads to unnecessary death and this is a prime example.
Update:
Apparently the FBI had him under surveillance for six months. They could have arrested him at any time when he was outside hobbling on his cane. Instead they staged a dramatic dawn raid for a photo op. A man was killed for a photo op.
FBI has been watching too many TV shows depicting them as some sort of civilian military arm of the federal government.
Derek Chauvin may be in prison until he dies. These guys get nothing. Are there any prosecutors with integrity in this country?
