Rosemary Woods’ “accidental” destruction of the Watergate tape must have given someone a good idea. This sounds to me like a legal argument for overturning a number of Jan 6 convictions.
It’s a reasonable inference that Rose Mary Woods did nothing to the tape, just came up with a cover story for Mr. Nixon. The Watergate scandal looks penny ante compared to what we’re seeing today.

The Fox News article nowhere, NOWHERE says that the missing information would have exonerated Trump and the rioters and implicated Pelosi and the DOJ/FBI in criminal activity. Those assumptions are fantasies produced by the mind of “@amuse” which Mr. McClarey quoted uncritically.
The extremes at which Trump supporters go to exculpate Trump and whitewash his crimes disappoint me. The disappointment deepens when it comes from a Catholic publication I’ve been reading since the dawn of blogging that I’ve trusted implicitly until now.
You missed the point TJ. Why was the J6 committee hiding information? They were a Congressional committee. They had a legal duty to preserve all information which they received. That the J6 committee was a lynch mob with no opposing voices on it, that is simply a statement of fact.
The extremes at which Trump supporters go to exculpate Trump and whitewash his crimes disappoint me.
What crimes would those be?
The disappointment deepens when it comes from a Catholic publication I’ve been reading since the dawn of blogging that I’ve trusted implicitly until now.
Now pull the other one.
I did not vote for a saint, but I would vote for Pres. Trump
