Trump is simply in “rule or ruin” mode at this point.
Unfortunately, I think Trump’s pride in his abilities to persuade people & his own awesomeness is what kept him from seeing who he was up against & accepting the reality of what these people who opposed him are capable of & will do to him. He has paid a high price for that arrogance.

Undoubtedly Trump made some poor personel choices. But remember, he had to contend with a closely divided Senate with his party headed by McConnell and a sufficient 0number of other backstabbers to sabotage his appointments. On the house side you had the disgusting RINO Ryan.
