My preachy rant for the day: It’s a mistake to categorize this behavior generally as the fruit of “worry” or “concern”. It unfairly implicates love as a motive. And using it to flatter merely reinforces the narcissist’s dishonest position. The enemy (and most often the real target) of resentment-fueled hatred of humanity is Christ. Speaking from personal experience, (as the patient, of course,) the only cure to this sort of madness is a dosage of Him, administered through the will of the Holy Spirit, attested to by our witness and accompanied by our prayers and patience. The madness will start to die as soon as the medicine starts to work.
