PopeWatch: The Silence of the Pope

Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

A man who supports the murder of babies and the sexual mutilation of children would think nothing of depriving our troops of the Sacraments during Holy Week. So, no surprise there. And, as for the Pope, anyone who heaps more suffering on long suffering Chinese Catholics would not be moved to speak about the deprivation of the Sacraments. So, no surprise there. Truly, birds of a feather.
Amen, FOS. And when Francis, the Logorrhea Pope, stays silent about something important, you can be sure it’s no accident.
Defy. If the priests have the support of Congressman, that’s enough muscle they need. Just takes one good priests to start.
The silence of the American bishops is a scandal as well.
There is an archbishop for the US military services. I don’t think this rises to the level of papal or national bishops’ conference intervention. This seems just like DoD idiocy.

If I’m not mistaken, the current president of the USCCB used to be the AB of the military services.
Wait a second. You don’t think Catholic hospitalized vets having their First Amendment rights violated merits condemnation from the U.S. bishops conference?
Religion is an intimate relationship with God. Anyone pretending to limit an individual’s relationship with “their Creator” is insane. Only the sovereign person, the citizen who institutes government has the choice of his relationship with God and with one another.
Is it possible that Congress does not know our Founding Principles? Only proves that they got to Congress illegitimately.

That’s nice. The bishops’ conference and their staff will yammer about just about anything, so I don’t know why they’d make an exception for this. Note, we don’t have a primate in this country and this is an insult by the government in the federal capital.
Aside from the Archbishop for the armed services, there are two ordinaries in metropolitan Washington. Oh, but Bp. Burbidge is busy.
