George Carlin said, “Never drink and drive. Always finish your drinking, THEN go driving.” I think of that line everytime I hear the phrase “drink and drive”.

In certain previous administrations this sort of behavior might be quietly covered up and never get to the public, to avoid embarrassing a president the press liked. However, if it did get out, the person would be expected to resign, to avoid continuing to embarrass a president the press liked.
