God sends us such priests as torches to light our frequently dark paths through this Vale of Tears.
Hero of Christ
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
A shining jewel in the crown of Our Lady.
These are the men that pray for us.
For the exchange of virtues. Taking our vices to the foot of the cross and begging God to transform our vices into virtue. May Fr. Kowalski’s courage, love for God and neighbor be ours. May we cooperate with these Holy Heavenly helpers so as to help our neighbors as well. Personal
Sanctification first, then our surroundings. Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints.
Practical question. Where is the Blessed designation in front of his name? I thought martyrs were fast tracked to recognition as saints. Witness + murder for that witness = martyr, unless I am mistaken (I was after all catechized in the late 20th C)
He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on June 13, 1999.
