George Orwell Pick Up Your Line
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.

What are they going to charge her with? My bet is she is going go back there and keep praying outside that clinic. Rinse and Repeat.
Government is an institution created through the consent of the governed; “We, the people”. All government, federal, county, municipal, is “We, the people.” All government officials great and small are “We, the people.” inclusive.
All public lands and waterways, public parks, federal land, municipal, county lands and buildings in custody of government employees belong in joint and common tenancy to “We, the people” as does our sovereign American Flag. (no burning of our flag as free? speech. Such nonsense does not belong in the public domain)
The whole truth of the matter is that if Coach Joe Kennedy freely chooses to thank God for graces received anywhere, Coach Joe Kennedy is free to do so since he owns that public field in joint and common tenancy with all other “We, the people.”
All this is being said because peaceable sovereign persons are being arrested for praying in front of abortion clinics on public property that these sovereign persons own in joint and common tenancy with all other “We, the people.”
It is insanity to act otherwise. Arresting some sovereign persons for praying and others celebrating pregnancy help center destruction is pure and plain insanity.”We, the people” ought to pray more. First God makes them mad before He destoys them.
Will Yellowstone super volcano erupt? Will the sun burn out of energy?
Those of “We, the people” who pray add time to God’s plan day by day, instant by instant.
Does the Church of England pray “in persona Christi”?
“Prayer is the offense”, instructs the cop …
That quote pretty much says it all. Who exactly is offended by prayer? Not the Angels and Saints, that’s for sure.
That really should’ve been the “Are we the baddies?” moment for this policeman.
Why should someone else’s perception be her problem?
FYI: 1984, and everything else Orwell wrote, is public domain in the EU, Britain, Australia and Canada because he died more than 70 years ago (in 1950). It can be read for free at Project Gutenberg Australia and a number of other foreign websites. However, it’s not public domain in the US yet because our rule is 95 years after original publication (1949).
So, even the Tories have descended into the pit. Certainly hope they don’t expect us to bail them out a third time if they get their knickers in a twist.
Is there anyone in the ‘Conservative’ parliamentary caucus in Westminster who isn’t a waste of space?
Find 1,000 faithful and decend upon that abortion facility…and do it now!
Pray Pray Pray
Thanks, Elaine, re Orwell. Sent your comment to my husband; he’s been reading Orwell’s writing recently.
Philip – I like the thought.
However, I think it would be far more maddeningly effective to have a solitary pray-er appear each time the previous one is arrested. A creative response could be “I’m praying for the woman you unjustly arrested on this spot.”
… Or have two replace the one arrested, one to pray for the children, one for the unjustly arrested. Next, three, then four … You’d get a crowd soon enough 🙂
Yes, to both of your comments.
Jam that Police department to overflowing and allow the ridiculous asinine ordinance to blow up in their face. The neighboring counties have faithful. Stream them in.
Bus them in. 10,000. 40,000.
In your face and lock us up.
Or
Do the right thing.
Dissolve this bogus Orwellian law.
