It’s gotten to the point where I’m not even sure if it’s worth pointing out that when Dems claim to be telling the truth they are lying, and when they claim we are lying that we are telling the truth.
During the first Trump impeachment Adam Schiff got up and literally made up a bunch of things that he claimed Trump said, despite the whole kerfuffle being over a phone conversation with a transcript. But he will never be called a liar for this, since his heart was in the right place. Conversely, posting an unedited video of things that happened can be a “lie” if you aren’t furthering the cause.
At this point does anyone even expect the dems to use the words “truth” and “lie” in the usual way? I mean, even their supporters will support a lie if it is in the right cause.
Saying that dems are lying feels a bit like saying professional wrestling is fake. The statement is true, but since this fact is obvious to nearly everyone saying it out loud is somewhat embarrassing.
It would be dismaying enough if the public prosecutors and the judiciary were not complicit. This will not end well.
If a Senator says you should not see something, you can bet its an indictment of his behavior.
Schumer says the release of the security footage advances Trump’s claims but he doesn’t say the footage isn’t real. If the footage is real, and it is, maybe Trump’s Big Lie is too. Doesn’t Schumer realize what he is admitting?
I was never a big fan of Kevin McCarthy. But stuff like this at least tempts me to change my view of him.

I’ve also been impressed (surprisingly so) with McCarthy’s ability to handle a hostile press.
