“Californian optimism”? I’ve never heard the term or heard it applied to anyone before, maybe becasue there are no Californians with optimism. Is Ivereigh just being his usual deluded self, or is he being intentionally ironic? I’ll go with the former. From my observation, Francis’ supporters are so desperate to keep up the fiction that he is good for the Church (remember the phony ‘Francis effect’) that they literally have to invent terms to keep up the pretense. I don’t think any of Ivereigh’s 20 Twitter followers believe it either.

Re: California. In the past two years 500,000 CA taxpayers emigrated to America. And so CA faces expanding state budget deficits. Unlike the USA, CA can’t print money.
