The real “suicide pact” is letting all that water go out to sea after not building reservoirs to claim a permanent drought status due to “climate change”.
The state cannot claim drought status after the heavy rains and snow this winter. One would think fewer forest fires too. We have a son in SF who has a business that is expandied to 8 other states. He would move out of CA but the business has the highest volume of customers in CA. Also his biz partner and wife have a child, and immediate family in the Bay area.
Remember two things: First, the left never cares about hypocrisy. Second, they don’t even see themselves as hypocritical in this situation. They hate the second amendment because it lets people like US to have guns. They don’t have a problem with “qualified” people (i.e. people protecting those that they like) having guns.

If one subtracts out murder, drugs, crime and suicide (for which there are each multiple means) guns are responsible for very few deaths.
Guns are the protection against a tyranical government.

If you then subtract lawful use of a firearm (such as the woman targeted for rape, or the elderly couple who are in the middle of being tortured to death after being burglarized, to use two real-world examples) the number goes even further down.
