Thank goodness it’s Gods forgiveness we all require and not a narcissist like Thomas Reese. Oops forgive me “father”.
Many large beams are out of the closet in the Jesuit community.
If one isn’t careful they could get it in the eye.
I may have missed it, but I can’t find where the Reverend Reese has said anything about the predation by and papal rehab of his fellow Jesuit, the Rev. Rupnik.
So you’ll forgive me if I decline to take my cues from an order whose moral compass has no needle.
It’s the Pornocracy all over again, but even worse. Ours features obnoxious, preachy hypocrites who drone on about proper Christian virtue even as they squelch around in their pits of depravity.
This thing is a reminder to always put down something you’ve written and reread it again before sending it. I mean, he practically says, “I thank you God, that I am not a sinner like that pope”.
Pinky.
Good advice. I need to practice proofreading my post much more often.
This, from Holy scripture, seems to apply to the topic;
10“Two men went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed,a ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the other men—swindlers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12I fast twice a week and pay tithes of all that I acquire.’
13But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’ 14
