A well worn path is being followed: focus on the deviant as victim; make the real victims shadowy or unsympathetic; allege that the opposition to pedophilia is mere prejudice, try to distinguish between “bad’ pedophilia and “not so bad” pedophilia.
When it comes to sex the Left is opposed to any moral judgments. Most Leftists would probably oppose pedophilia currently on the grounds of lack of consent. That is a frail reed. How many of the same Leftists were adamantly opposed to gay marriage 23 years ago? We shall see efforts initially to legalize pedophilia on the margins, say decriminalizing relations between adults and 16 year olds. Then there will be an attempt to lower the age of consent to 15, then 14, then 13, etc. In blue states prosecutions for pedophilia, except for Catholic priests, will become increasingly rare. The entertainment industry will be enlisted in the effort.

I recently read about Axel Rose who fronts the band Guns n Roses. I like their music growing up. Guns and Roses were quite successful from the 90’s and still have a pretty solid fan base. Axel Rose was sexually abused by his biological father and stepfather as a young boy. The trauma of that contributed to his violent and anti-social behaviour as an adolescent. He was still a volatile personality at the height of his fame. Rose has made anti-homosexual statements in the past which he has had to justify after considerable public backlash. Rose then had to re-word his statements by saying he isn’t “anti-homosexual” but rather “pro-heterosexual”, basically back-tracking on expressing his true heartfelt opinion. Why does Rose hold these views? Because he was violated by an adult man as a young boy. This is despite of the fact that most of his other political and social views are typically liberal and fitting to a rock performer.
The innocence of our Constitutional Posterity, all future generations is the standard of Justice for all peoples. Leader of the adult /minor sex is Jean-Paul Sartre, as he was a pedophile as was Alfred Kinsey, sexologist who ruined Hugh Hefner.

(The scare quotes seem fitting, because I think you meant how many portrayed themselves as such. In both cases, we can judge the public statements, leaving the judgments of the secret hearts to God.) My guess is that 23 years ago at least 76% of Democrats would have backed off public support for “gay marriage”. Even Obama had to claim to be opposed to it 14 years ago, only to “evolve” into a different position after being elected. So the GOP portion of the Senate is today where the Democrats were 23 years ago, or indeed maybe a bit further along. If things keep going the way they are now, 23 years from now 50/50 GOP senators would vote to defend “gay marriage” — assuming the GOP and the Senate still exist by then.

The fundamentals are taught in Science class because they are biological facts. Teaching a minor that any other form of sexual activity outside of heterosexual sex is a sin is instructing their moral conscience and an obligation as Catholic teachers and parents.
On the other hand, teaching a minor how to do man on man or woman on woman sex is grooming. In the same way teaching a minor adult on child sex and adult on animal sex is grooming. They’re also mortal sins.
