I don’t know. It seems like students should be tough minded enough not to swallow what is jammed down their throats politically at the colleges and universities they attend. Case in point: the U of I was pretty liberal when I attended it as an undergrad in 75-82. If anything, what many at the U were pushing made me even more conservative in reaction. Of course my upbringing was not sheltered and I have too much Irish blood not to relish a good fight. It goes without saying that tax supported institutions should not be engaging in this blatant political advocacy in any case. Parents need to be aware where they are sending their kids and their money.
Some rather strange background here.
Lots of red flags on this one with the family dynamics none too healthy. Conservatives may wish to adopt a bit of skepticism on this one.
Update:
A $300.00 a day deprogramer? My hourly rate at the law mines is $300.00. Is Grounds keeper Willie free lancing?
As you indicate, it has partly to do with the student’s upbringing and partly to do with the student’s own nature. We can’t do anything about the latter, but we had BETTER raise our kids to know what is really important, to be committed to what is important, and to understand it well enough to defend it.
Confirmation bias is one of Tucker’s more glaring weaknesses. The whole deprogramming bit strikes me as more than a bit of a reach. What I find alarming is that kids take on a crushing financial burden in exchange for this leftist garbage that gets spewed in colleges today.
Her family has ample income and assets and selected for her a private women’s college with a certain amount of cachet. That might have been a satisfactory decision in 1948, but nowadays those places are collecting pools of lesbians. The question at hand is why she remained there for four years.
I have heard it said you get your politics and religion from your father and your manners from your mother. People fail with their children all the time in spite of their best efforts. Still, I cannot help but think that the problem here was a deficit of explicit parental instruction.
I emphasize ‘explicit instruction’ because the lives of fancy people are such that the instruction inherent in every day life just is not happening.

Most parents are readily familiar with the record of the high school football team. Ask what their child is being taught in the high school classroom, they have not a clue. The institutions of “higher learning “ are simply putting the finishing touches on already indoctrinated subjects, at a ridiculously inflated price. It’s time to take back control of schools on the local level. Want your child taught by a teacher’s union zealot? DUH! It’s amazing so many sane children emerge.
