Of a Lioness and Jackals.

The Arizona Republican Party is infested with a particularly virulent strain of Never Trumpism, the corpse of John McCain continuing in death his life mission of attacking the party he purportedly belonged to.  I have no doubt that the election officials of Maricopa were dedicated to making sure by hook and by crook that the Lioness, Kari Lake, who was pledged to cleaning house, was not elected to be the next governor of Arizona and tonight they likely got their wish:

This is the hour of the jackals, but I predict the Lioness will be back, and the Jackals who oversaw the farcical election in Maricopa County may well be seeing the Lioness in court before that.

A crying shame Kari Lake lost (was robbed). Pretty disappointed for her constituents.

Gee…
It only took a week to cook the books. Those poor machines just wouldn’t work correctly…&#!% happens. Oh. And hell freezes over come election cycle in Maricopa county. Pathetic!

As far as I’m concerned, they should gather the rotten eggs and dump them into the compost pile. Yes.
Sue the pantsuits off them.
How embarrassing for the cheaters.
Hobbs should feel completely ashamed but she won’t. She’s a Democrat. To hell with fair elections.
Your vote doesn’t count, Mr. and Mrs. Republican. Dobbs and her PAC will make sure that it doesn’t count.
Even if it takes a week to do it.

The gubernatorial “election” of Hobbs and the accompanying incomprehensible election of former Maricopa County Board of Elections commission member Adrian Fontes (D) to Secretary of State and fellow partisan Democrat Kris Mayes to AG is the death knell of Arizona as a functioning state.

Who cares about the courts? If by some chance she can get a fair hearing and has some kind of case, what will be the result? A fine? Some declaration about what should be done which will be ignored or slow walked at best?

Coincidence.

Every time voter machines malfunction and every time it takes excess days or weeks to count fouled up votes the D wins.

Pure Coincidence.

Can we all agree to not even entertain the possibility that this was anything other than election fraud?

Also note that a number of refugees from California brought a lot of their political baggage with them which contributes to this sort of thing in a close election.

It was not smart for Lake to launch a frontal attack on McCain voters on November 5. An unnecessary, unforced error in a tight election.

And, I dunno, maybe The Don could have spent some of his war chest to help those he endorsed in close races?

Nah, that’s crazy talk.

“It was not smart for Lake to launch a frontal attack on McCain voters on November 5. An unnecessary, unforced error in a tight election.”

You don’t win elections by reducing your vote total. “Republicans need to dump Trump voters to win” or “We need to get the Neocon voters out of the party.” are both wrong. Republicans may need to get rid of Trump or forget about McCain, but they need the voters who voted for both of them. A large part of winning elections is getting people to hold their noses and vote for you, so telling them not to vote for you is a terrible strategy.

The first think Charlie Crist did after registering as a candidate was to tell the press waiting outside that he didn’t want the votes of anyone who voted for Trump. … That worked out for him exactly as you would expect 🙂

Only people who just didn’t come off the turnip truck from Pluto.

Yeah yeah I know the routine. “This time for sure the refs will rule in favor of the Washington Generals…”

Did any judge actually look at the evidence?

I’ve been involved in election law suits. In New York, you have to have your ducks in a row very quickly, really in a matter of days depending on the electoral calendar. And you need an attorney who is experienced. There isn’t enough business for any attorney to have election law as a practice line and the lawyers who know what they’re doing are commonly on the law committees of your local Democratic or Republican organization, so have reasons to refuse the case. I knew of two lawyers in Rochester who were both experienced and would take a case for a fee. The Trump campaign should have had an experienced team set up in every state projected to be within the margin of fraud, keeping in mind that finding the right attorney might be more challenging than you’d imagine. I suspect what you really needed, however, were prophylactic measures rather than clean up afterward. The thing about Trump is that he’s decisive and he has good instincts and he knows how to bargain. He is weak on organization.
