This false claim is being made after the Left created fake postings to falsely claim the attacker had right leaning political views. Instead, he’s a standard issue Leftist loon who likely was invited inside the house. The fact that none of the abundant surveillance video has been released confirms, for me, the likelihood that Paul Pelosi had a relationship with this guy, even if it was only for an hour or two.

The term ‘likely’ does not mean what you fancy it means.
Police and prosecutors don’t ordinarily offer a big puke of evidence to the public in criminal cases. The motions the FBI agent assigned to the case and filed in federal court include precis of statements made to the city police by Pelosi in the ambulance, by dePape after he’d been read his rights, and by a security guard on duty at a neighboring property. Maybe they’re all fabricated. They are, however, consistent with each other. The security guard saw someone clad in black and carrying a knapsack around the property and heard banging noises (consistent with someone smashing a laminated window with a hammer). We have photographs supplied by drones deployed by the Daily Mail showing one of the french doors at the back of the house was smashed. We have transcripts of police radio chatter which summarizes the content of Pelosi’s 911 call.
It was reported that Paul knew his name and called him a “friend” in the 911 call. It was also reported the man was in his underwear and has a past that includes male prostitution. So, either it was some totally random break-in, or there just might be more to the story. I guess we’ll have to wait. Generally, the truth gets out eventually.
One thing that I noticed in the reporting on the incident was that none of the reports even bothered to discuss any evidence for concrete motivations for the attack. It was against Pelosi’s husband, therefore obviously the Republicans were behind it! Reminds me of the Gabby Giffords case where they instantly jumped not only to a Republican motivation, but said that it was caused by a specific Sarah Palin ad. If it had been a botched robbery, they would have still reported on it as caused by Repubilcans.
Since most reporters still don’t care about the actual motivations it’s hard to determine what happened, but from what little information we have the guy seems to have been an actual nutjob, posting things like “Jesus is the Antichrist.”
Contrast the Scalise shooter where he visited the Bernie Sanders campaign headquarters shortly before the attack and specifically asked where he could find Republican congressmen before the shooting. This is on top of his in the tank Democrat social media postings. But in that case the media’s position was the standard “we may never know what his motivations were” and even today most will not ascribe left wing motivations to the attack.
