I’ve believed for some time that as far as the elite pro-aborts are concerned, it’s not about their right to abort as much as it is about their “right” to pressure poor, vulnerable, and usually minority women to kill their babies.
I watched Blonde last week and it was difficult to watch. The retelling of Marilyn Monroes life was portrayed as grim; a woman with a lonely existence. Used and abused. But that was the truth behind the glamour.
Not sure how much of the movie is accurate. However the abortion parts are spot on. The abortions are what led her to the addiction and misery she lived and which finally ended her. The abortions haunted her. And they actually showed this.
The images of her unborn baby growing in her womb to the brutal termination of the same baby with a knife, from its point of view. I had to look away during those times in the film. But well done to the producers for showing the reality.
PP can’t censor this one. Blonde is receiving ALOT of international attention. Ana de Armas is pretty good in it.
The complaint appears to be that she miscarried several times but is not known to have ever had an abortion. (I think it is passably attested that Judy Garland was forced into an abortion ca. 1941, with her mother and her husband of the time implicated).
You may be correct. It’s not documented. I’m inclined to believe she did (I hope I’m wrong). However she apparently did suffer from endometriosis.
Hollywood Studios had it written in their stars contracts that they couldn’t fall pregnant and some had it in contracts that they weren’t allowed to marry in order to preserve their sex symbol status. That idea that in order to survive Hollywood as a woman, you had to survive it like a man- don’t let womanhood get in the way. Or something along those lines.
Excellent film. I really hope that more pro-lifers watch it. The NC-17 rating is a joke.
According to Wikipedia (I know, I know), Monroe was only alleged to have had multiple abortions. Her autopsy doesn’t cite any evidence that she ever had an abortion. And we know for a fact that she had endometriosis and multiple miscarriages.
