The mystery we’ve been encountering about our politicians and public health officials is what their ulterior motive has been.
Note, New Zealand managed to keep the virus out for a long time. They currently have a high death rate because their vulnerable population hasn’t been burned over yet. It’s probably better for that population that they caught this when the less virulent variants were circling the globe and when trial-and-error had produced better treatments than you could get in March 2020.
