Thought For the Day

Religious bigotry is every bit as vile as racism, and it is treated as a sacrament on the Left.  The silence of our Pope on this is deafening.

Illinois State Senator Sara Feigenholtz herself was adopted as a child and her Wikipedia site says her political interests are “in the areas of adoption, women’s issues and health care.” She is of Jewish religious affiliation and in December, 2021 was awarded the Hannah G. Solomon Award by the National Council of Jewish Women for outstanding achievement “for the rights of women and children.”

Life is full of contradictions, they say.

The Left is pushing a meme on the internet of “Democracy not Theocracy”.
As if the SC ruling on what is and is not in the US C is “theocracy”. It is this “woke” religion that’s most dangerous.

The Pope made no statement? His silence is his statement. I do not believe the man is Christian, much less Catholic. Lord have mercy on him.

She’s 65 years old. Apparently never married, no children. She’s been in elective office since the age of 38. She was, by some accounts, employed in political fundraising and on legislative staff before that. She has a degree in public health. You know, that corps of specialists who have distinguished themselves mightily in the last three years. Exemplary Democratic pol.

65.. never married.. no children…
-millions of women have had an abortion, she may be among them.
“Psychological projection is a defense mechanism people subconsciously employ in order to cope with difficult feelings or emotions. Psychological projection involves projecting undesirable feelings or emotions onto someone else, rather than admitting to or dealing with the unwanted feelings. ”

Republicans spent years pandering to Jewish voters (most of whom love abortion) and alienating socially conservative Muslim voters. Ghouls like Sara Feigenholtz are living examples of why that approach is so stupid.

They’ve done neither.

LOL. Of course my comment gets deleted. You can prattle on about black-on-black crime all you want in right-wing circles, but the second you criticize Jews, you get the ban hammer.
They’ve done neither.
Of course they have. Unless your head is buried in the sand (and if your name is Art Deco, it is), Republicans have spent decades exalting the pro-Israel lobby and chasing off Muslim voters by promoting dumb wars.

Here’s the problem with people like Robert…they conflate some Jews with all Jews, some blacks with all black, some Muslims with all Muslims. They confuse a statistical indicator (an average proportion) with judgments on individuals.

Wow.
On the side, I had no idea that it was Jewish teaching that a baby doesn’t get a soul/become human till they take their first breath. I am dumbstruck.
I thought pics of Jewish women writing on their very pregnant bellies (not human yet) was a fringe group. 😮 What the President of Israel did, allowing more abortions due to our overturning RvW makes sense bc they allow it for a variety of reasons.

Robert, there have in recent years been four Muslims in Congress. All of them are alienated people who rally other alienated people. In no case is it fair to say their alienation is a consequence of ‘dumb wars’. Neither are any of them ‘socially conservative’ in their policy stance, nor is it prudent to regard them as such in their mundane life. (All four of them are divorced and one of them has engaged in matrimonial shenanigans that are the stuff of comedy). About 1% of the population is Muslim, so they’re not a gold mine of votes even if they’re motivated by what you fancy they are.

It doesn’t seem to occur to you that officials of both political parties have disinterested reasons for their policy choices in the Near East, nor does it occur to you that normal Americans are not hostile to Israel. Nor does it occur to you that a calculating pol might conclude there is nothing to be gained by being hostile to Israel. Republican politicians do not ‘pander to Jews’. They are simply not motivated to take the policy stances you fancy should be the default setting.

He may have that problem, too, but that’s not salient for this discussion. Robert’s problem, and it’s not one particulary obtrusive in paleo circles but is the proverbial sore thumb on the alt-right (American Renaissance, Unz Review) is that he assumes his hostility to Jews and his wish to see them injured is something other than the pathology that it is. So, people who have a benign disposition toward the Jews must have some sort of malign motive.

AFAICT, Orthodox Jews in the United States tend to be conservative in their political dispositions or to regard politicians as fungible. I think this is true of post-communist immigrants outside of orthodoxy as well. The rest of the Jewish population in this country tend to be suckers for bad causes. This has been true here at least since the early 20th century. You can see this abroad as well, though not in Israel and not in Britain. I have a suspicion that if you assembled a bibliography on the subject, most of the literature on why American Jewry is like this would be apologetical in character, with a few entries by the Jewish population’s detractors (e.g. Kevin MacDonald). Maybe there are neutral descriptive studies as well, but wouldn’t bet on it.

The President of Israel is a ceremonial official who does not make policy decisions.

Art-
Orthodox Jews, on public ethics issues like fetal cell lines, are a pretty good match for observant Catholics.

Which explains a lot of the heat they get….

Same way that Israel actually behaves sane and even restrained when they’re being attacked by the group version of meth heads, and that just gets them attacked all the more. (It’s that or horror movie villains– tunneling in to slaughter families down to the infants? Shooting a supportive journalist so you have a bloody shirt to wave? And then the international cheer squad waves the shirt for them?)
I got done with it when a main stream article, I think in Newsweek, talked about how Israel had broken the cease-fire by shooting back at the other party in the cease fire.
You know, the other party that had said they wouldn’t shoot.
But no, it was Israel that was to blame. For shooting at the guys shooting. When civilian areas are targeted.

Example on the Orthodox being abused:
Look at the New York city policies which were carefully crafted to target said group, on the excuse of COVID.
They couldn’t figure out getting weed sprayers with a bleach mixture into the subways for, what, nearly a year? (Local Walmart came up with that in two weeks. Carnies have used it for years.)
But by gum, they could order Jews not to gather in large enough groups to observe their faith.

Now, combine that information, and the abject hysteria over Justice ACB (“The spirit lives loudly in you”– zomga, an observant Catholic?!?!?! HORRORS!), and the nonsense up top…
