Mark Friday This Week On Your Calendars Open Thread

Dobbs will likely be the last decision issued before the Court gets out of Dodge for the summer recess.  Law mines permitting, full coverage from TAC.  Let’s turn this into an Open Thread.  The usual Open Thread rules apply:  be concise, be charitable and, above all, be amusing!

This Friday (tomorrow) is the Feast of Our Lord’s Sacred Heart. May He have mercy on us all

I can’t help but think of John Roberts as Lucy Van Pelt, pulling the football away at the last second. Expecting nothing.

I’m hoping Brett Kavanaugh, his wife, his mother, and his father have obtained concealed carry licenses and that Ashley and Martha Kavanaugh have developed a new fondness for ladies’ jackets of the sort which can cover a shoulder holster. (I gather Mr. and Mrs. Barrett are known to have such licenses).

Cathy.
Yes. Lord have mercy on us all.
That the decision to be made on HIS most beautiful feast day…“Behold the heart that has loved man so much and has been loved so little in return.” …will be a decision that honors His Sacred Heart or one that dishonors it.

St. Margaret Mary ….pray for U.S.

Following up on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart being tomorrow, for added ammo please also pray for the intercession of St. John the Baptist, whose Nativity feast normally is June 24, but is transferred to the 25th this year on account of the occurrence of the Sacred Heart. (I expect most readers here already know that feasts of Our Lord always outrank those of the Saints in the liturgical calendar.) In any event, given the story of John the Baptist’s martyrdom, I can’t help hoping that Divine Providence might be at work here, notwithstanding Chief Justice Roberts’ apparent lack of a spine. We shall see.

N.B. The violent, left wing murderers aren’t rioting outside Lucy Roberts’ home.

If the leaked opinion is broadcast, I expect numerous incidences of left wing violence at pro-life facilities and at Roman Catholic Masses this Sunday.

In other Thank-God-For-Small-Mercies news, the SCOTUS knocked down one of NY and other blue dumpster-fire states’ myriad infringements on the Second Amendment: the God-given, unalienable right of free men to bear arms.

A few thoughts:
1. Every day that Roberts doesn’t release this opinion, another eight hundred children die. It’s been over fifty days since the leak. I’ll let you do the math. (Don’t forget to subtract weekends, when the Supreme Court is “closed.”) Either way, Roberts is a blood-soaked ghoul.
2. Can’t wait to see how Shea, Rocha, Eden, and Greydanus react to this news. Shea will argue that True Catholics support abortion, Rocha will insist that transgender bathroom access is an equally important pro-life issue, and Greydanus will be sure to wrap up his opposition to Roe in a package of bitchy talking points about the evils of the right. Remember how he opposed the very Texas law that’s gone on to save thousands of lives?
3. If they weren’t gonna overturn Roe, wouldn’t they have issued the decision by now, merely as a courtesy to the justices whose lawns are flooded with idiots?
4. Every corporation that condemns or speaks out against a potential overturn should have its assets liquidated.

Every day that Roberts doesn’t release this opinion

I don’t think it’s his call.

Four opinion issued yesterday. That leaves nine today.
