In time…He could turn out to be the best marketing tool TLM ever had.
After Francis stacked the voting bloc it will take more than just hope to save God’s Church from further destruction. I pray the Holy Spirit gets to stuff the ballot drop boxes…or at least control the color of the smoke.
Is there anything sadder than an old queen?
I just read Warren Carroll’s “Building of Christendom.” My main comfort right now is that things have been worse. Though sometimes they got better through chastisement, such as the Religion of Peace.
Well. All the Jesuits have left is talking smack about the TLM and the priests who celebrate it.
Whose he kidding talking about grandmas outdated lace heirlooms. He’s no spring chicken. He needs a mirror.
It looks like the comment was really just about lace, not the TLM, because based on the NCR article he brought it up in a discussion of “liturgical art, liturgical fashion”. I’d think that the mods would encourage local liturgical customs, but I guess old local liturgical customs don’t get that consideration.
He is wily Pinky. Lace is emblematic. He is ridiculing as if lace if not only old, it is feminine and probably soft.
Remember why tassels and lace were used… as a reminder of His commandments, and not to follow your own ways. Perhaps also a defense against evil.
The command idea is that the practice should go on through generations… something else the not-a-pope wants to tear.
I don’t think Moses thought of matters of dress commanded by God were “fashion” as in a la mode.

Don’t be absurd. Francis has repeatedly likened a fondness to the extraordinary rite “just a kind of fashion.”
Perhaps PF is commenting snidely about women in church wearing lace mantillas? Mostly seen worn at the Masses in Latin, but there are a few worn at Novus Ordo Masses daily and on Sunday. I have my grand mother’s worn at an audience judging by the size and a smaller one that is my mother’s. The Pope’s comment makes me want to dig them out and wear them.
I hope you wear them. Pray and think about it. It is a good humility exercise for you at the same time it is a witness.
I wish more priests would dress like priests. Stand up and be counted.
