Last night at dinner in the rectory among the topics discussed were guns and good guys with guns. The two priests, old friends, recounted an incident years ago about a fellow priest who was known for his armory. Where other priests might have a cell phone, a book, or a rosary on their bedside tables this priest kept only a loaded Luger next to his bed. Good habit, because in the wee hours father heard someone rifling through his sitting room desk. He grabbed his pistol and started shooting. After the intruder fled; the priest called the sheriff. Bullets were found all over the stairway walls and blood on the steps. None of the local ERs though had a shooting victim come in that morning. The local paper got hold of the story nicknaming the priest Father Dustyourass. The intruder was not apprehended until years later in another state when he was caught red handed. His MO was breaking, entering, robbing churches and rectories and the police were on to him.
When the food shortages become excessive, people are going to start rioting and breaking in not only to stores, but homes. When the misnamed Democrats believe they can deny our Second Amendment right to protect ourselves against them, people had better have lots of guns and ammo and know how to use them.
The right to defend ourselves is not given to us by the Second Amendment. It comes to us from Almighty God.
