Possibly the most lyrical, and at the same time, theologically-packed few lines by S.Paul out of all his writings.
I remember a teacher once talking about “a thumbnail sketch of the Gospels.” This could be an example.
If it’s hard to put together “the big picture” of Jesus Christ, or a snapshot of the meaning of Lent and Holy Week, memorizing these few short lines from Philippians 2:6-11 will supply. (It’s also a concise answer of Who Jesus Christ is to all the people at Yale and Harvard Divinity schools and elsewhere that have lost their faith. But they don’t buy into the Scriptures anymore anyway. And are irrelevant anyway.)
It is, of course, Reading II on Palm Sunday (as well as in many monasteries at Vespers on Fridays in Lent).
