Now the billion dollar question will be answered:
Can they, yet again, get away with the Big Pivot from the latest set of Big Lies? As usual, I expect they mostly will get away with it unless Republicans make the excesses of the Covid regime, along with Biden’s complete incompetence on everything, the heart of their messaging everywhere. My guess is that won’t happen, and races will be lost that could have been won. I pray that I will be pleasantly surprised in November.

Well I wasn’t too worried about Russia attacking but now you’re telling me SNL is funny?

I’ll be in my bunker.

Funny? I know it’s subjective, but the setup was about 18 months too late to be clever, the dialogue didn’t have jokes, and the cast added nothing. I wouldn’t even say it was coherent. I guess some of the people were doubting some of the restrictions, but it was hard to tell who. It could work if one character is struggling to say something controversial, or one was wildly off base, or if all the characters are wrestling over a particular statement they don’t want to make. But that many people reacting without it even being clear what they were reacting too, it had no momentum. A few people, you can have straight men and laugh-getters; a group, you can have interplay and alliances.

And just like that, they decided Covid was officially over. Trying to recover from the 2 years of suppression is only the beginning of it.
