CHICAGO, IL—People are protesting in the streets today after human rights groups revealed Jussie Smollett will be forced to share a jail cell with his racist attackers.
“This is an outrage!” said Reverend Jesse Jackson. “Not only was Mr. Smollett attacked by hateful racist bigots who want to tear our country apart, but now he has to share a jail cell with them? This is cruel and unusual punishment. This is the kind of thing that happens in our white supremacist country. Send me money!”
Criminal justice watchdogs also revealed that in addition to sharing a cell with his attackers, he will have to share his toothbrush, his bunk bed, and clothes. They expressed worry that this may lead to Jussie Smollet suffering further racist and homophobic attacks from other attackers named Jussie Smollett while in prison.

White liberals are the true source of white privilege and systematic racism.
Although I am not a specialist in mental health, it is easy to see that this is an immature adult, easily influenced by what he thinks is expected of him by those in his particular social group, especially older authority persons. I doubt he had the personal guile to pull off such act in a convincing manner; hence it fell apart quite early. I would hope that the judge would include the requirement for some sort of mental health counseling as part of any sentence.
Jussie Smollet is pushing 40.
The last thing Chicago or anyone else needs is to generate an excuse for him, this time delivered via the mental health trade and its DSM-V manual. Punish him. May he Figure it Out, or maybe he do not.
If he wants a rent-a-friend (or a rent-a-snotbucket), he can pay for it fee-for-service. That’s one thing for which neither the government nor insurers should be on the hook.
He orchestrated a hate crime hoax to garner empathy during the BLM political climate, in order to increase his public profile in Hollywood so he could demand more money as an actor. He was calculated, opportunistic and and he knew precisely what he was doing. He was in complete control of all his faculties. He is a liar. There is no you way anyone could conclude that this con-artist is mentally unwell. Jail will serve him very well.
I’m in no position to diagnose anyone, but will merely observe that Mr. Smol-yea, (h/t Dave Chapelle and his scorchingly funny monologue about this case), was a child actor, and thus exposed to all the bad things we are learning have been endemic in that world for generations. (I remember seeing him not long ago in an episode of the TV series Coach from the 1990’s.) Not trying to excuse his lying and manipulation, but it’s not hard to understand where he learned it.
Justice for Jussie is simply the tip of the iceberg of fake hate crime hoaxes.
Even the annual five or six [out of 80,000,000 white men] actual hate crimes are hyperbolically exaggerated to make the extremely rare incidents cause for TV face time and millions $$$ for race hoax profiteers/racketeers.
And, as Sgt. Clark used to say, “People go to Hell for lying, too.”
