OT, Brazil, perhaps the country in the world with the most laissez-faire approach to the Wuhan virus, is experiencing case counts which are lower than last year’s at this time by 2/3 and a daily death toll which is lower than last year’s by 1/2. Deaths per person in Brazil since March of 2020 have been about 20% higher than those recorded in the United States. Note, real income per capita in Brazil is similar to that in the United States ca. 1941.
