That’s assuming you believe he was ever actually that high to begin with…

If Gallup is up to their usual pro-Democrat oversampling, then this is even worse than it looks, assuming (as Nate wisely points out) that the previously high numbers were credible in the first place. Let’s assume for discussion that both numbers are reasonably accurate. My question then becomes: Did the Puppetmasters really think they could do what they have done since January and not see a loss of public support? I have a hard time accepting that. So, either they care not at all what “the public” thinks of their sock puppet POTUS impostor, or they are setting him up to be replaced. Or both.

Three trillion dollars fire-hosed into an already-inflationary economy should do it.

“Build Back Better”? If by that they mean what happened to Dresden in April 1945, then it fits.

The long running bet has been that Harris would take over midway through Biden’s term so then they can get the maximum possible 10 years of a president – this also coming from people who believe the Obama’s and their coalition are behind Harris – seeing her as a useful blank slate to push their agenda.

On the one hand, there is one possible move here – get Biden to run things as bad as possible for 2 years, then Harris sweeps in to “clean up the mess” and skyrockets her popularity for two easy elections. (at least that would be their theory)

As always with these things, the question is how much “control” is there? Given how badly Biden has a record of bungling things (whether Art Deco believes it or not), I wouldn’t be half surprised if any puppet masters are just turning him loose and letting his incompetence run unchecked. Harris I wouldn’t be surprised if she was very receptive to “advice” though there are rumors she may not be as empty a suit as believed. She may grab the big chair anyway and leave the senate deadlocked as a scapegoat for her problems in the 2024 election. The wild card as always is the 2022 congressional elections. I’m sure the dems would love to take both houses of congress because then they believe they would be able to pass all of their policies, turn things around in the clutch, and then become widely popular and enjoy an unchallenged reign like they had in the 30s and 40s. The complication is Biden sullying the brand so badly a democrat can’t get elected dog catcher in California.

As ever the only other wrench in their plan is that their policies never work out as intended.

Fairly well persuaded Biden doesn’t know whether he’s coming or going. We do not have any real reporters anymore, so the mechanics of how decisions are being made is more of a puzzle than it would otherwise be.

I’m not seeing how Harris is induced to resign. As for who is next in the line of succession, we repair to the law enacted in 1947, The law itself is consistent with the hypothesis that our politicians are more concerned with status and protocol than in accomplishing anything. Pelosi and Leahy are a pair of antiques (every occupant of Leahy’s position is; occupants of Pelosi’s commonly are), neither has ever held an executive position, and neither has held a nonpolitical job since 1966. During the post-war period, the occupants have typically been people who’ve never run a business or a public bureaucracy with a mission to do something other than serve them. That’s been true about 2/3 of the time in re the President pro tem and about 90% of the time in re the Speaker. Neither office should be in the line of succession, especially now.

Of course, then you repair to the cabinet, and you see in the first three slots Blinken, Yellen, and Austin – and there you see two of the four people who gave you the Afghanistan catastrophe. The Democratic Party doesn’t have a deep bench.

One curio of our time is that they have certain business sectors in their pocket (tech, media, casino banking, and the HR departments of corporate America generally), but they have few people in high positions with a background in business. The current cabinet was assembled from demographic tick-boxes. You have a few with business experience: one in consulting, one in venture capital, and a couple who were neighborhood merchants. AFAICT, the only veteran is … Lloyd Austin. Only two have an academic background in economics. Bunch of politically-connected lawyers, just the sort to make sound decisions on economic policy

Of course, Biden is not sufficiently cogent to run his household much less the nation.

So, who is running the country into a ditch?

I say it’s a cabal of over-aged, adolescent sociopaths with no real-world qualification in any matter of substance. the blind are leading the blind.

Polls don’t mean nothing. They will simply steal the next election, again.

Re: ‘Build Back Better.’ All they had to do was end the China virus reign of terror. But, economic growth/recovery isn’t the goal. That would be Control and graft.

In other news, the Atlanta Fed predicts 3Q2021 GDP growth [out this Thursday] to soar to 0.54%.
