PopeWatch: Damian Thompson

Tell us what you really think Damian.  If only his brutally accurate assessment of the current pontificate was a mere exercise in British wit.

He’s great! He covered it all. And the way he didn’t even bother in dissecting and deeply engaging each of the points but rather passing them off for what they are “utter rubbish” was pure gold. What a refreshing commentator.

Francis’ directive to the bishops, prepping for the “Synod on Synodality”, calls on them to listen to the input of fallen-away Catholics, non-Catholics, and even non-Christians as the bishops re-imagine the Church?

I notice Francis’ instructions never mentioned soliciting input from traditional Catholics who prefer the Extraordinary Form of the Mass…

In 1969 Cardinal Ratzinger saw this Church of Francis that will implode and in its self destruction a humble Holy Church, a meek Church will exist. I found this tidbit this morning;

This proposed ridiculous Synod on Synodailty could easily pass as a deep thought of Joseph Biden, devout catholic.

“We have no need of a Church that celebrates the cult of action in political prayers,” he intoned. “It is utterly superfluous. Therefore, it will destroy itself.” Cardinal Ratzinger

I’m trying hard to see the evidence that Jesus instructed the apostles to learn from the idolaters, the lost, the blind and the lame. I don’t see it in Scripture.
He, Jesus, gave them authority and power from on high to lead, admonish, heal and instruct.

The Church of Francis is not the Church of Christ.

Dialog is very important in reaching out to the pelphrey, the unloved, misunderstood and misguided.
To listen to them is highly important and by doing so earnestly one can guide, heal and supply necessary help both temporally and spiritually.

The excerpts that were shared by Raymond of the handbook gives the impression that we will be instructed by the blind, the lame, and the idolaters.

I hope my interruptions are far from correct.

If not, then the remnant Church Ratzinger foresaw will become a reality sooner than later.

Hold Fast.
