The Biden Admin’s @BrianDeeseNEC on skyrocketing grocery prices: "If you take out" beef, pork & poultry, the "price increases are more in line with a historical norms" pic.twitter.com/yaaot03BdR

The Puppetmasters’ administration has complete contempt for the people they rule
This is the exact opposite of the argument they made at Independence Day. Remember that? They argued that the price of a barbecue went down versus last year, but the drop in price was entirely due to beef being at an incredibly high price in July 2020 due to supply chain issues; nearly everything else in the hypothetical barbecue increased in price.
After all, if you take out people over 65, people with comorbidities and people with obesity, the deaths from coronavirus are more in line with historical norms. Maybe we can celebrate the end of the pandemic, but not with a bbq; meat is kind of expensive right now.
If he believes that, I’ll assume he has someone else do his grocery shopping for him.
So that explains why, say, 3 oz. paper cups, bread and milk have all gone up, too.
Pull the other one, clown.
Oh, and Costco is back to rationing paper product purchases, too. All because of Big Meat. Contempt is exactly the right word. It is returned in full measure–and then some.
And that’s before we talk about fueling the vehicles for trips to get increasingly-expensive necessities.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported both ‘headline inflation’ and ‘core inflation’ for about 40 years now, because food and fuel prices tend to be quite volatile.
Containing inflation is the job of the Federal Reserve. Five of the six member of the board were nominated by Donald Trump. Another was nominated by Barack Obama and then nominated for the chairman’s position by Donald Trump. Some were confirmed by a Republican senate, some by a Democratic senate. As far as I am aware, the Fed purchases Treasuries on the secondary market, so investors are still scarfing them up.

That puzzles me. No jagged supply chain problems where I live.
I think Mr. Powell needs to tell Dr. Jill and Ron Klain that they have no authority to be bossing the board around and the board has legal autonomy for a reason.
Paper prices are going to be problematic for a while. Anecdotes are not data, but my recent stops at Office Max are not heartening, that’s for sure.
