Cardinal Cupich Bans Communal Saying of Saint Michael Prayer or Hail Mary After Mass

I guess his bosses get edgy when hearing either of the prayers.  The Church really needs a rule restricting the Cardinalate to Catholics.

He’s begging for noncompliance, and he should get it.

The proper response is for each member of the congregation to decide to “privately” say the Prayer to St. Michael out loud at at the end of every mass.

There is no power on this earth who can ban people from praying on their own and in union with others. At the end of Mass all that has to happen is have a regular parishioner begin to pray the Hail Mary and St. Michael prayer aloud after Mass with the other parishioners . The priest can join in if he wants. Case closed.

Amen to all of the comments above!

Obedience to the priest is proper.
However at the conclusion of Mass there isn’t any reason to abide to Cupich’s opinion.

We are in the battle.
Defense against the wicked and snares of the devil is very important.
A blinded Cardinal is not the fault of the parishioners, nor should the priest be reprimanded if the congregation continues on in the prayers. The priest did his due diligence. Now more than ever we need the exorcism prayer.

Poor Cupich.
Scales are so thick on the eyes.
His congregation might just be the help he needs to shed all of the scales. Wouldn’t that be poetic?

The Cardinal Archbishop of Chicago can’t command you to skip merrily into Hell with him.

Catholics need to get over the idea of obedience to clerics as a form of spiritual serfdom. This would be a good place to draw the line.

It sounds like the cardinal banned the Hail Mary during Mass and the St. Michael prayer after Mass. Not much of a distinction, but still. I could understand the former if every Mass in Chicago conforms to Church norms in every other respect. I’d like to hear an explanation for the latter. Is there any documentation about this rule? I couldn’t find any after a quick search.

It is well past time for this b*tch Cupich to be throat punched.

I’d like to think those attending one of his public masses at the cathedral would begin to pray audibly at the end, and just let him stew.

he, the priest, should up the ante with a public (personal) prayer of:
“Angel of God my Guardian Dear to Whom God’s Love commits me here, please be at my side to Light and to Guard, to Rule and to Guide….”

“Mary, Mother of God, Pray for Us.”

that would be following the letter of the cardinal’s “imposition”

I suppose that if the way the world is going is acceptable and preferable than any exorcism prayers would be considered a roadblock to a sort of success. It’s all relative.

What else is there?

A crazed Karen that has goods on the Cardinal?

We don’t know but I would like to know his reasoning.

Wait…

One of your church leaders is banning the recitation of PRAYER inside the church building??

Do they have any clue as to insane this looks to non-Catholics? Especially protestants?

“Gentlemen you can’t pray in here! This is a church!”

Phone rings….The Cardinal’s secretary answers;

“It’s for you again Blasey baby.”
“Wormwood wanted to know if your picking him up or if you want him to stop by tonight to grab you?”

Cuprich;
“Tell the worm I’ll meet him at the Bada Bing no later than midnight.”

Frank..I’m sorry for being rude however the fight is on.

Lead, follow or please get the hell out of the way.

We need leadership.
Halfhearted lukewarm leaders paved the way for the Lavender Mafia to scandalize and vandalize Our Holy Catholic Church.

NO More!
Call them out!
Especially when they pull a boner like this one. Pun intended.

Why Cupich?

During the 2018 sex abuse crisis, Cardinal Cupich claimed that the real issue was “clericalism” and not homosexuality. Cupich told America, a liberal Catholic newspaper, that blaming the abuse on homosexuality was a “diversion” away from clericalism. (LifeSiteNews)

Cupich is way off his game; my parish in the archdiocese has been doing this since the 80s at weekday Masses.

At the local Catholic hospital chapel an ex-nun, a Cupichite for sure, arranged the once-a-week Mass there which was attended by a few regulars as well as hospital staff (pre-Covid). One day she announced she did not want our praying the St. Michael prayer after Mass, something we had begun spontaneously some weeks before. Astonished, we asked why. It was unsuitable, she said, and offended her (erstwhile) Carmelite sensitivities. “We do not go”, she said, “from receiving the Eucharist” (to petitioning some angel to send Satan back to hell). As I was just a “guest” at this chapel and while I was shocked and dismayed I let it go. But I always stood and silently prayed that prayer after Mass, even more earnestly than before. I am happy that at my own parish it is prayed after both daily Masses…when the priest is halfway out of the sanctuary, for some reason. There are some attendees who do not stay for it. Odd.

He’s a pederast protector too. There is nothing good about this man.

This not true. There is no ban on the prayers in the Archdiocese. This is taken way too far. The conversation is between Cardinal and Father. The context is missing here. Too bad. Well what can you say? People love drama even at the cost of the truth.

What is happening to the leaders of our faith????? We thank God that our priest believes the teachings before Vatican 2 and preaches that way.
