The Republican PR team will have a plethora of material to use in the season of political advertisement.
Unfortunately Phil I don’t think the GOP will use this material to its full potential. Just enough of it to make it look like their trying to win when in reality retaining the status quo is the goal.

A detractor of Bitc* McConnell maintains his business model works best with 45-49 senators in the context of the filibuster. He can then extract payola from the Democrats with their co-operation. He’s not actually interested in policy apart from lining people’s pockets.
Note, Bill Frist and Howard Baker are the only Senate Republican floor leaders in the last 60 years who did much with their adult life other than hold elective office, House leaders have been more varied. Alas, the current incumbent and his predecessor are lifetime pols; their two immediate predecessors had other irons in the fire and both proved to be skeevy characters. For all his shortcomings, Newt Gingrich’s tenure was a brief, shining moment.
