Twenty-nine years was a brief mortal life. May she now have an eternity beholding the Beatific Vision. Rest easy Officer French, your shift is over.

That sounds like Blase. If it’s too much to ask for a Catholic Cardinal in the age of Pope Bergoglio, you would still think behatting an anti-Catholic one would be a step too far.

My daughter made it most of the way through the police academy but then had a very severe knee injury during a poorly-planned and unnecessary training exercise. Bad enough where her active law enforcement career is over for now. I can’t help but think that God spared her from something worse happening to her on the street. It’s become a crazy world, even here in Small Town America.
