That is an insult to all animals.  Only the Aghani people can stop this.

The West, including the US, should not have bothered with a region of people they don’t want help. Troops died in vain. Australian troops stationed in Afghanistan are going through the wringer atm accused of “atrocities” (a minority of self serving ones deserve the treatment), but in the whole most don’t. Trying to “help” that region was never going to end well. We have a wonderful Afghanistan technical engineer who works for us who will tell you “they don’t learn”.

When do the warlords ever want their victims to have help?

Their victims have left the country in droves. And those who remain will side with Islam. They won’t side with you even if you help them. Islam is the unifying factor regardless of whether it shows its head in its extreme form or moderate form. Taliban is a product of Islam. As is Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, Nation of Islam, Jaamat el Islamist, Muslim Brotherhood so forth and so forth and the list goes on and on and on and on.

When the “help” has so often meant “disarm yourself, then die when we don’t defend you”?

I don’t ask them to side with me.

I expect them to be allowed to defend themselves, not disarmed and and when they cannot defend themselves, we’re informed it’s because they don’t want to.

You can arm them to defend themselves. Yes they should be allowed this. Then leave them be to do that. Why put yourself in harms way in the process. Let’s just hope the arms you gave them to defend themselves don’t end up turning back on you. That’s the risk you take.

Two truths that were known twenty years ago, but ignored:
-Some cultures are not fit for democracy.
-Afghanistan is called “the graveyard of empires” for a reason.
