July 29, 1941: Saint Maximilian Kolbe Gives Up His Life to Save a Stranger

Terrible things can happen to us in this Vale of Tears, but how we respond to them is always up to us. Saint Maximilian intercede for us with God that in our hour of trial we may have a fraction of the courage and love that you demonstrated eighty years ago today.

“Jesus gave everything of himself to you. What can you give Him in return?”

[Paraphrasing]

The quote was written on Fr. Maximilian Kolbe’s ordination cards.
A heroic life knows no fear of man.
St. Kolbe asks all of us to help our neighbors to The Sacred Heart Jesus as soon as possible. Conversion.
Sanctification. Salvation.
He called the Miraculous Medal the silver bullet. Penetrating the hardest heart. Please don’t let anyone steal your ammunition because you dismiss that sacramental.
In honor of the founder of the Militia Immaculata, please purchase a gross of medals, have them blessed and distribute as the Holy Spirit moves you. Please.

Your crown awaits.

Nice post, Frater Philip.

Somehow — by sheer grace of God— in the most inhuman of places, overseen by the terminally inhumane Highly Educated Master Race (it is shocking how many of the worst officers of the Einsatzgruppen and the Totenkopf SS had Ph.D’s and advanced degrees), Fr. Kolbe cooperated with Grace, accepting one of the most horrible deaths to proclaim the reign that Christ is King.

Even in Auschwitz.

Educated derelicts dear brother Steve.

Oh how they abound in our day.
Abortion, euthanasia, transgender mutilation extravaganza!

We have our work cut out for us.
Thanks for your compliment.

I clipped the March 15, 1995 NYT obit for Mr. Gajowniczek for whom Father Kolbe died. It marks page 803 of Bill Bennett’s “Book of Virtues, “The Volunteer at Auschwitz.”

Another malicious milestone: yesterday your Demoncrats [Trump is the Devil] passed a Medicaid funding bill which omits the Hyde Amendment.
