I’ve often said to opponents in reasoned debates over religion, “you’ll come around, where else can you go?”
Now having typed the above, that’s what’s made the whole Francis affair so painful. Praying the Rosary before the Tabernacle, (at least 1 decade if responsibility’s are in need of attention then finish at home)
-is restoring my reasoned sanity.
Amen to that last, David WS. The ability to enter a church to pray before the Blessed Sacrament is a privilege the value of which is vastly under-appreciated.

This post brings to mind the 1950’s Ingmar Bergman movie [I think ‘The Seventh Seal’] wherein the knight plays chess with Death.
I was a member of the the Worldwide Church Of God when Bobby Fisher was involved in it. He was always spoken about in hushed tones. But as the CM article pointed out, he became disillusioned with the church. I left eight years after Fisher after I became disillusioned myself.
