PopeWatch: Apology

The priest at the parish of PopeWatch apologized yesterday at the conclusion of Mass. He said that he closed the church for three months last year out of obedience but that had been a mistake and he deeply regretted it.  He cited Saint Maximilian Kolbe who once noted that priests owe obedience to their bishops but first to Christ.  The priest is a good man and PopeWatch congratulated him after Mass, but said an apology was not required from him.  The Pope and the bishops should be the ones apologizing.

“The Pope and the bishops should be the ones apologizing.”
I’d go a tad further and demand they go on remedial retreat with 12 hour a day Gospel reading required before the mandatory confessional sessions.

The bishops so readily kow towing to the dictates of leftist governors was a cowardly act of epic proportions. And remaining silent while abortuaries ran unabated makes it even worse. And it wasn’t just the Wilton Gregory types who cowered here. The “orthodox” bishops were no better. In fact, their reputations for orthodoxy makes THEIR cowardice worse in my mind.

As a Catholic, I am ashamed that it was Protestant pastors who, by and large, did the heavy lifting in fighting this tyranny.

It is a dark chapter in Catholic history made even darker.

I hear even Archbishop Cordeleone in San Francisco, said to be Pelosi’s bishop, is still “dialoguing” with Pelosi, who receives Holy Eucharist.

KMBOLD, Abp. Cordileone, like pretty much all “orthodox” bishops, is all show and no go!
