When speaking about his 7 year old “son’s” (at the time) growing interests he would say things like “his mums have introduced him to musical theatre and he is enjoying it, so there is hope for us he might be gay one day”.

One of the problems our evangelical brethren have had is that a large fraction of their intelligentsia are sellouts. Note, Richard Lowry also employed this man, and paid him quite an inflated salary to boot.
