Brings a tear to my eye. Van Gogh painted truth with hope and love.
Ah that’s beautiful quote. I recently saw an exhibition in Canberra which was a visiting art collection from National Gallery London. One of the pieces in the exhibition was his famous Sunflowers. It’s something else. The painting glowed. He had this remarkable artistic expression which was a true gift from God. You couldn’t replicate it if you tried. A troubled soul who had a tragic life. But I’m convinced that his soul was saved.
My other favourite quote if his:
“Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.“ how true is this in our own lives.
I love Van Gogh. This episode of Dr. Who is especially poignant. It is a bit irritating that when I was at the Musée d’Orsay in 2012 taking pictures was not allowed. But a filming a television show is okay.
That’s a shame George, would have been good to have photographic records of your visit. I think it’s allowed now but no flash (light affecting the artworks). Most galleries allow no flash photography now.
This episode of Dr. Who is especially poignant.
That’s the reboot. Fugeddaboudit
The Killer Rabbit, an actual newspaper story about a giant swamp rabbit attacking Carter’s canoe was funny. “Bash it, Jimmy!”
SNL skit The Pepsi Syndrome about a soft drink spilled on the nuclear power plant controls featured Akroyd as Carter (I’m a nuclear engineer) and Garrett Morris as Violet the maintenance worker. Both are exposed to high levels of radiation which results in them becoming enormous. Funny stuff.
