Kevin McCarthy is the minority leader in the House. If the Republicans win the House next year he would likely become Speaker of the House.  Luntz is the shill for Google to the Republicans. Much more on Luntz and his malign influence on the Republican party:
Lies, lies all the time. The devil commands official politics.
Is Luntz boarding at the McCarthy’s, or does McCarthy share a pied-a-terre in Washington with Luntz and have his wife back in Bakersfield? (His children would wager his children are sprung from the nest by now). Luntz is an old bachelor and has a reputation for being a man held together with psychotropics; I can’t imagine you’d want him around much.
While technically I don’t see any violations of law here, I can not help but remember some of Mark Twain’s deprecatory remarks about politicians. Twain was not a religious person and it would seem his comments were based on personal observation.
Evidently, McCarthy is renting from Luntz. Specifically, Luntz bought four adjoining condominiums and then renovated them so they’re connected. By one account, the complex has 7,000 sq feet of space. IOW, this elderly bachelor has enough space to house comfortably a family of nine, of which he rents a portion to the House Minority Leader. (Presumably some of the space is allocated to his business). So, the question on the table is whether or not McCarthy received a concessionary rent (which would violate the law on receipt of gifts by members of Congress).
McCarthy’s been quoted in the New York Post that Frank’s a friend I knew 15 years before I got into politics. McCarthy landed a job as an aide to a California legislator in 1987, at the age of 22. So he’s saying he and Luntz have been buds since he was 7 and Luntz was 10?
